Hello, I am Michael Chen, your supportive, enterprising and independent representative for Willoughby City Council’s Naremburn Ward. I love our community and are committed to building a stronger future together.

 

My journey began from humble beginnings, born in Fuqing City, China, in 2008 my wife and I, armed with our bachelor’s degrees and full of dreams, ventured to Australia. Despite early challenges, we fell in love with Sydney and made it our home.

For 16 years, I have lived and worked in Australia. In 2013, I founded The Giants Group, which has grown and become a community hub for local residents. Later, I took over and expanded Salvage Specialty Coffee and Little Giant Roasters, located in Artarmon, Chatswood, and Willoughby, supporting 50 local employees and their families. I truly believe in giving back to the community and contributing to its prosperity.

 

Family is my greatest treasure. My wife Vivian and I have three daughters—Annie, Keddie, and Mackenzie. We live in a multi-generational household with my parents, which has deepened our family bonds whilst connecting me with our diverse local community and giving me an understanding of the challenges our senior community members face.

 

I have served as an Executive Committee Member of Artarmon Village Incorporated, and in 2023 I received a “Willoughby Community Award" from the state government, for my commitment and passion to community service.

 

I have a reputation of listening, delivering value, being honest and responsible, and proactively seeking outcomes for small businesses and the wider community.

 

I am passionate about serving the community and ensuring every resident and small business owner in Naremburn Ward feels supported and valued.
